Problems faced by women in technical field💻
This essay was written by me when I was writing for a google contest. I thought I should add it on my blogspot also so here it is😀😀.
Since I'm doing a technical degree but I don't have any experience in technical field except as a content writer, I asked my sisters who are software engineers and are in computer management fields.
According to them top 5 difficulties or problems faced by them and their female colleagues are:-
1. Balancing personal and professional life.2. Their work is underestimated by their male colleagues.
3. Their technical work is not appreciated by the company in comparison of men.
4. Eve teasing (very rarerly but do exist)
5.Rules and regulations of companies are not flexible for women such as night shifts and working hours.
According to me these issues are very prominent for every working women doesn't matter in which field they are. As a solution of balancing personal and professional life, I will try to give priority to the one which is more important for me that particular moment. I can only balance my personal and professional life when my family members support me so in order to get support I definitely have my family relations very strong and I believe my family will surely support me in order to support both the things.✌
In solution to 2nd and 3rd points, my point of view is men will surely understand the women's work when they really do care about their sister's, wife's and mother's efforts. So we have to make them understand how much effort it takes to be in a technical field. I know it will take some time but will definitely work out.
In addition to this, my perception in terms of 4th and 5th point is that, In an independent country, we(women) are still not feeling safe, why? 😐😔Because we are not still independent because of our way of thinking, the way we think about other fellow people and sometimes it results in a very cheap act which is eve teasing!! We need to increase safety rules and guidelines in companies and everywhere so that not a single man try to do these types of cheap activities. We women also need to be bold and should know how to fight with it instead of just crying about our destiny and existence.
